Fabric of the Week: Blue and White Marble Batik
This week’s fabric is the Blue and White Marble Batik which is a modern take on traditional African batik fabric. It has a marbled effect of mixed blue and off-white. This fabric is quite versatile as you don’t have to worry about pattern matching. The marbling varies across the entire fabric and no two pieces are ever identical making for a very unique finished garment. Some parts of the fabric have a higher concentration of blue whilst others are paler and have a higher concentration of white. The reverse side of the fabric is also darker version of the front allowing even more scope to play with tones and shades of colour. You would end up with something really quite dramatic and unique.
Made in Nigeria and 100% cotton, the fabric is available here as a 2.2 metre length or here as a 4.4 metre length.
