Meet the Three Ts: Aso Oke Teddy Bears
Meet Temisan, Tito and Tokunbo, the three teddies! I am so excited that you finally get to meet them. They are born of an idea that was formulated a few years ago.
As you would have seen from our website, blog and store, we are huge fans of Aso-oke at Urbanstax. The three Ts are made from, you may have guessed it already, Aso-oke!
What is Aso-Òkè?
Aso-Oke (pronounced ah-SHOW-kay) is a loom woven cloth from Nigeria. The cloth is woven in long thin strips and these strips are traditionally sewn together to make garments. These garments are usually worn to special occasions such as weddings and coronations. It is a hardwearing material with a similar texture to canvas and in some cases denim.
We are very much of the belief that it is a great choice for so many applications even beyond garments. You can find out more about the textile here. This is why we thought it was the perfect material for The Three Ts. A set of three classic-style luxury teddy bears.
Grin and Bear
In collaboration with Grin and Bear, we bring you a set of three limited edition luxury teddy bears using our Burgundy Beige and More Aso Oke. With Aso-oke from Nigeria, these bears are lovingly handcrafted in the UK.
The brand Grin & Bear was created by Michael Dankwah and they make a wonderful range of luxury teddy bears. Visit their website and you will see that you are spoilt for choice.
Their bears are available in two sizes and are made from a range of luxurious fabrics like classic Liberty prints, wool or even mohair. You can also personalise each of their bears with embroidery. You can purchase directly from their website or if you have a special occasion in mind, even commission your own bespoke bear.
Temisan, Tito and Tokunbo are available in our Gift Shop. Visit for more images and info as well as other gift ideas!
