Our fabrics are 100% cotton and are handmade in Ghana and Nigeria.  These pieces are created using traditional wax resist and tie dye techniques, often with a modern design twist! Local producers in African countries in African countries is where we source our fabric . These fabrics are often bought directly from the person who has made it.

Both the tie dye and batik techniques are quite labour-intensive as each step is created by hand. Every stroke of the batik designs is drawn by hand in wax. The fabric is then dyed and the wax melted off. The more layered colours in a fabric piece, the more drawing and melting has been done to achieve a rich mix of colours and patterns. Due to the production techniques, no two pieces are exactly identical therefore the fabrics are certainly unique, like works of art!
