Africa Fashion at the V&A
There is a new exhibition opening at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Africa Fashion is a celebration of the vitality and innovation of a selection of fashion creatives from over 20 countries. The exhibition looks at work of iconic designers such as Shade Thomas-Fahm, Chris Seydou, Kofi Ansah and Alphadi. It also features the work of more contemporary creatives, such as Imane Ayissi, IAMISIGO, Moshions, Thebe Magugu and Sindiso Khumalo.
Themes such as African Cultural Renaissance, The Politics and Poetics of Cloth, Vanguard, Mixology, Adornment, Minimalisim, Afrotopia are used to section the show and explore the evolution of African fashion. It promises to be an engaging show!
